This workshop covers essential theory and includes exercises so you can practice applying design principles and elements to your infographics.

- Visual elements and how to use them (colour, shapes, lines, fonts and icons);
- You will learn how to apply design elements and principles to transform data and scientific information into easily digestible visual stories.
- You will learn how to create an infographic through hands-on exercises, applying the principles and techniques covered in the workshop.
Course content
Module 1 – Design Principles, and how to encode information into visuals.
Module 2 – Practical exercise, where you will apply contents from Module 1 to build your own infographic.
This workshop uses various interactive learning approaches: videos about key topics, practical examples, quizzes, and exercises.

Requirements: No prior experience in design or infographics is required. It is, however, recommended to attend the workshop “Infographics for Scientists: Key Priciples”. To complete this workshop, you will need a computer with internet access. All practical exercises can be done using free design tools like Canva and PowerPoint.
